"Every time, just like the last, on her ship, tied to the mast, to distant lands, takes both my hands."

Crazy (live) :: The Kills "Crazy for thinking that my love could hold you. I'm crazy for trying, and crazy for crying, and I'm crazy for loving you."

Venus Stopped the Train (live) :: July Talk "I kept my distance because she fell in love with everyone. Smoking grass and taking Christmas trees, she fell in love with me. I was polite to her, a soft sadness had her much more than her loneliness."
Romeo and Juliet (live) :: The Killers "Juliet, the dice was loaded from the start. And, I bet and you exploded in my heart. And I forget, I forget the movie song. When you gonna realize it was just that the time was wrong?"
Never Tear Us Apart :: Paloma Faith "Don't ask me, what you know is true. don't have to tell you, I love your precious heart." Paloma Faith's cover of INXS' Never Tear Us Apart, an all-time favorite song of mine, is so powerful, and so full of emotional heft, that I immediately find myself full of all-over goose bumps and a flood of memories that this song evokes. I love the big band sensibility here and the torch song, slay you dead on the floor vocals. Paloma is fierce, with an incredible voice, and she takes this song, one that's original is so special to me, and makes it completely her own. This cover version is cinematic, soaring in a way that makes you stop and pay attention, and feel. I love it.
Fall at Your Feet :: Clare Bowditch "The finger of blame has turned upon itself, and I'm more than willing to offer myself. Do you want my presence, or need my help? Who knows where that might lead; I fall."
