The first Monday of April and boygenius is today’s soundtrack. “True Blue” is my current favorite, with Lucy Dacus on the lead vocals. I love the lyrics and the sentiment and the wistfulness of the kind of love, or friendship, or both, that is the kind that knows the other more than they know themselves.

This is the kind of song that I catalog deep inside me for many, many listens. The kind of song that will have memories attached to it. The kind of song that will make me cry sometimes, laugh sometimes, and heart-soar sometimes.

Today, it is fresh and new, and it makes me want to go out into the rain and dance and sing.
