Queen of Jeans is a 2022 new discovery. “Get Lost” is the first track I heard, though I’ve been digging in deeper this week. This song has an infectious hook to it, and an indie pop flare that I love. I was reminded this song, and of Queen of Jeans, via a Spotify made for me Dinner Party Mix that I was streaming last night while cooking dinner. I kept returning back to “Get Lost”, finally dropping it into a favorites playlist, and featuring the song for the Song of the Day.
I also included this track on a recent playlist I made, and shared, here.

Song of the Day – December 2, 2022
“Get Lost” by Queen of Jeans – from the album, if you’re not afraid, I’m not afraid (2019)
“I don’t care if you want to leave here,
and I won’t care if you think I’m square.
I don’t care if I’m going nowhere –
I could get lost from anywhere.”
I love the youthfulness of the lyrics. The whiff of first love, and first break-ups, it emanates. Queen of Jeans’ bandcamp describes the group as “2 gay vegans + 1 beautiful boy omnivore in South Philly. Miri, Mattie & Patrick” and their music “like a 2016 revival of a 90s throwback to the 60s.” Yeah, I hear something like that.
I did think 90s at first listen, especially the dreamy-spacey sounds that did borrow from the 60s. Bands like Luna, Stereolab, Camera Obscura, Dressy Bessy, and All Girl Summer Fun Band.
