One of my favorite voices of 2020 was Phoebe Bridgers, and one of my favorite albums of 2021 was Punisher, by Phoebe Bridgers. “Savior Complex” was one of my first-listen favorites, and it has remained one of my go-to songs from the album. Its found its way to many playlists, and on to my Top songs of the year via Spotify.

“Baby, you’re a vampire.
You want blood and I promised,
I’m a bad liar,
with a savior complex.
All the skeletons you hide –
show me yours,
and I’ll show you mine.”

I feel this song deeply. I am trying to overcome my own savior complex tendencies. Its hard work. It takes so much time. But fixing yourself is not something that happens over night.
