Top 5 Music Obsessions featuring Big Thief

September’s first Top 5 Music Obsessions is a mix of energy, of moody emotions, of hopefulness, of new and not-so-new, and of a passion I am feeling igniting in myself, so it’s not a surprise that I’m obsessing over music that is feeling it, too.

Today I’m back to seriously working on a novel. I’m also trying to breathe new life into lyriquediscorde. Get it going again with new energy and some new features along the way. I’m also starting on a new project over on my personal Instagram. I will be adding some personal reflections, confessions, and random rambling thoughts on my stories in an attempt to be a bit braver, connect more and open up parts of my self that have been so shut down lately. I’m hoping it’s not too much to take on all at once. I’m hoping that instead, it will help fuel my creativity and that each part will work into the others. Sometimes you have to be your own muse – don’t you think?

This is also a way to both bring my creativity back to life (I know its absence has made my issues worse) and bring back positivity to my life. I’m surrounded by so much negativity, so much stress and “expecting the worse”. It’s taken a huge toll on me – on my creativity, on my heart, and on my soul. It’s fed into my insecurities, my emotional issues, and my anxieties – and I don’t want that to nourish me any longer. The only thing we can truly change in life is ourselves, so that’s what I’m doing. Changing myself and my life.

I think there’s a lot of change to come…and a lot of creating.
