A busy morning so far. It feels like the day is speeding by, or at least the first half. Last night was a good one, even if we stayed up far too late. It’s hard to give in to sleep when a good night is ours. I get greedy and want more and more and more. Every time we have an issue between us and get to the other side of it I feel like we get closer. It’s a rough way to go, and I definitely prefer when we get closer during good times together. But, I’m grateful for the closeness that comes from the issues, and that we don’t give up. That we keep working on things.
We came together so quickly, moving fast because we fell so fast for each other. I don’t regret any of it. Not the speed we moved, not the big steps we made, not the love we led with. Four months together last Saturday and we’ve never had a day apart. Not even one. And now we live together. All of that makes me forget sometimes that we are still new. That we are still getting to know each other. That we are still learning about each other. I love that we do have so much still to learn and know actually. I love every time I learn something new about him. A new story, memory, things he likes and loves, experiences, feelings, thoughts.
I want to know everything and I want to spend the rest of our lives getting closer, connecting more, and still learning and loving each other. I think we will. I look forward to every minute I get to spend with him.
I didn’t listen to any music on my way into work today. I am at the end of an audiobook and the plot was building and becoming more intense. I had to know what happens next. But, ever since I woke up this morning I’ve had Kristin Hersh’s voice in my head. So, when I got to work I put on her 2007 album, Learn To Sing Like a Star. I hadn’t heard it in years, and I especially wanted to hear the track “Sugar Baby”.

Song of the Day
The album, Learn To Sing Like a Star, is Kristin Hersh’s seventh solo album. It was released in the US on Yep Roc Records in January of 2007, and on 4AD for the rest of the world. The album was produced by Kristin and was mixed in Nashville by Trina Shoemaker. It features David Narcizo on drums. Narcizo was in Throwing Muses with Kristin previously. The album also features the McCarricks on strings.
“Sugar Baby”, today’s Song of the Day, is my favorite track off of the album.
