“Into the Mystic” by Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit

I’m having a really rough morning and words are not coming easily. So, instead, for today’s Song of the Day, I will share a cover of my favorite Van Morrison song, one that has a lot of memories attached to it, by Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit. I’m looking forward to seeing him play (with opener Aimee Mann) next Friday.

Though I prefer the original, this is a great live cover of “Into the Mystic”. Jason always has so much passion and emotion in his performances. And the band sounds great, giving the song an alt-country meets rock feel that I’m enjoying this morning.
