Anna Calvi Song of the Day

“Don’t Beat the Girl Out Of My Boy” by Anna Calvi

This week I’m trying for changes, new beginnings, and strength. Last week ended with me wrestling with a bad cold that knocked me off my feet for days. I slept a lot (finally) and realized that I was neglecting my health and letting bad coping skills take over and it needed to stop. I also had to stop hurting myself further by keeping him in my social media, where I couldn’t seem to stop myself from looking all the time, hurting more with each visit. No more. It’s time to take care of myself and get on with it. My creativity is fueled up and running. I’m following a keto plan which is helping me eat again. And, I’m writing all the time. Reconnecting with friends is helping, too. And time with my wonderful kids. I’m embracing all the good I have in my life and giving myself grace in dealing with loss and the state of my heart. Every day is a new beginning.

Music, oh sweet music, what would I do without you?

Discovering new music, new releases, new artists and bands, and new songs is bliss to me. I’m so excited by Anna Calvi’s new track, “Don’t Beat the Girl Out of My Boy”, and cannot wait for her upcoming album. I hope her tour brings her to the states, and Los Angeles.

with your heavy diamond eyes.
You’re so fine,
keep me steady as we rise.”
