I’ve always been a Fan of Cover Songs, and have compiled a long list of Favorites. What are some of your Favorite Cover Songs?

Today’s first Track is an unexpected Cover by The Flaming Lips. The Flaming Lips with Stardeath and White Dwarf, do a very unique Version of Madonna’s “Borderline”. This Cover can be found on 2009’s Cover Compilation, Covered, A Revolution In Sound: Warner Bros. Records. I didn’t find the Album first though. I found this Track via this Week’s Discover Weekly Playlist from Spotify.

Next up is a brand new Cover Song Released today by Radical Face. It is a Cover of”Y The Cranberries’ “Ode To My Family”, one of my all-time Favorite Cranberries Song.

“Your Song” originally by Elton John, covered by Lady Gaga, is Track 3 of Today’s Top 5 Music Obsessions. “Your Song” has always meant a great deal to me, ever since I was a very young girl. Lady Gaga is a Favorite of mine, too. I think she’s incredibly talented and has a flair for the unexpected. This Cover was definitely unexpected. It can be found on the Elton John/Bernie Taupin Cover Album called Revamp: The Songs of Elton John and Bernie Taupin. This is one of my Favorites on the Album, right after The Killers’ Cover of my Favorite Elton Song (“Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters”).

“The End of the World” by Sharon Van Etten is up next. The Song has been Covered many times by various Artists. The original is by Skeeter Davis, Released in 1963. Sharon’s Version is from the Soundtrack to “The Man In the High Castle” TV Series.

Last, but not least, is a Cover Favorite of mine by The Milk Carton Kids. Their Version of Pink Floyd’s “Wish You Were Here” is unexpected and unique. I’d never have thought this Song could translate to a Country-Folk-Rock type Sound, but it does.
