Wednesday is here, my Favorite of the weekdays. That halfway mark, the weekend in our sights, “date night” for my boyfriend and I. Its a beautiful day outside, blue skies, cartoon clouds, sun in the sky holding hands with a cool breeze. The coffee is hot, the Music is flowing, and the day is full of promise. Who could ask for anything more? Well, except maybe a new Top 5 Music Obsessions for the day.
Song 1 is a Track from Laura Marling from last year that I was obsessed with then, after my first listen, and am still obsessing over now. “Nothing, Not Nearly” is great storytelling, something I love about Laura’s Music and it’s catchy and melodic and beautifully bittersweet.
Next up is “Baby You’re My Light” by Richard Hawley. I love this Song and hadn’t thought about this Song in a long time. It was included in this Week’s Spotify Discover Weekly Playlist. I was so glad to hear it again.
“Catch”, one of my Top Favorite Tracks from The Cure, is Song 3 in Today’s Top 5 Music Obsessions list. I was told once that this Song reminded someone of me. Now every time I hear it, it reminds me of the person who said that to me.
Avi Buffalo’s Track “Won’t Be Around No More” is Song 4, followed up with “You Can’t Have It All”, by Yo La Tengo. A perfect duo of Songs to wrap up the Day’s Obsessions with.
