Mondays come on like the first bright light of the sun in your eyes, the kind that requires sunglasses and sun visors in the car, a hand shading your view, and maybe even a hat. It comes on like clean sheets of paper, of first pages, of first days, and of new beginnings. Mondays also come along with a hefty to-do list, the kind that takes some wiping away of blurred eyes, deep cleansing breaths, and strong coffee. Oh, and Music to obsess over, and get you through.
Today’s Top 5 Music Obsessions start off with a lyriquediscorde Favorite, Ryan Adams. The Song “Magnolia Mountain” is Track One off of the 2005 Album Cold Roses that he did with The Cardinals. The New Song “Sugartown” from The Fratellis, is Song number 2. Next up is my one of my Favorite Songs from the 60’s, as well as my Favorite Song by The Beach Boys. “God Only Knows” often makes me cry, often makes my heart tremor, and today reminds me of my wonderful boyfriend who I love so very much. Alvvays’ Track “In Undertow”, my Favorite of theirs, is Track 4 of Today’s Music Obsessions. And, last but not least, is “Bad Ambassador” by The Divine Comedy, this week’s first New Discovery lifted from my Discover Weekly Playlist, from Spotify.
