Thursday is upon us, a little sooner than I expected due to the Bank Holiday this past Monday. I feel a bit behind on everything because of it. That said, I’ve got the Music Turned Up and I’m pushing through to try to get caught up on everything. I’d like to go into the weekend feeling like I’ve crossed off all those pesky “To-Do’s”. How about you?
So, the Music Turned Up? Here are the Tunes that are filling up Today’s Top 5 Music Obsessions.
Song 1 is “Setting Sun” by The Chemical Brothers. I’ve needed the energy boost this Song gifts, especially with the Volume Up. Next is something a bit more on the “chill” side, but oh my stars how I love Trip Hop. “Cowboys” is one of my Top 10 Portishead Songs. It takes me into a different mental state. I can use that kind of escape today. “Razzamatazz” by Pulp is Track 3. Jarvis Cocker so does it for me. I heard the 4th Track the other day while re-visiting a Playlist from last year. It had been awhile since I’d heard “I Know It’s Over” by The Smiths, or really any Songs from The Smiths beyond the “hits” that get thrown into Throwback Playlists and stations like First Wave on Sirius/XM. I forgot how beautiful (in that heartbreaking kind of way) this one is, and have been replaying it ever since. Last but not least is Nouvelle Vague with their take on The Clash’s “Guns of Brixton”. I just adore their Covers. Don’t you?
Let’s Turn Up the Volume together, and blast this Thursday’s Top 5 Music Obsessions. And if you want to check the rest of the Obsession Tracks this week you can stream them on Spotify and YouTube, or Press Play at the end of this Post and enjoy!
