Welcome to Wednesday, and welcome to today’s Top 5 Music Obsessions of the Day. The cool weather is starting to pass (well, cool for Southern California), and the sun was back up in the blue skies again. I’m in an “I wish I was anywhere but here” frame of mind. I think its fueled by the dreams I had last night, of Big Sur, of the sound of the ocean crashing on the rocks, the twisting stretch of highway through the cliffs, and the magic of a road trip when there is no set time to arrive at a destination. That is where I’d rather be today, not anywhere, but right there. But, today’s not that day, and I have a To-Do list at work that I need to complete and check off. So, for now, I’ll travel into each of these 5 Songs and escape that way. Maybe you’ll want to join me, too.
Song 1 is a new Song off of a new Album by Beth Hart, “Addicted”. The Album and Song is a pair up of Beth and Joe Bonamassa. “Cure For Pain” by Morphine is up next. Morphine is a Band I almost forgot about. Thank you to Spotify’s Discover Weekly for not just introducing me to Music, but re-introducing me, too. Track 3 is an alternate mix of “Velocity Girl” by Primal Scream, and “There’s No Other Way” by Blur is Song 4. These two Tunes pair up so well together. Last, but not least, is “A Face in the Crowd” by Tom Petty. This one is in my Top 10 Favorite Tom Petty Song list, and always will be.
So, let’s hear it for Wednesday, and let’s hear Wednesday’s Top 5 Music Obsessions. Don’t forget to Turn Up the Volume. And if you know the Tracks, please sing-a-long.
