Happy Friday! This week has sped by, and a Bank Holiday looms ahead. I hope everyone’s had a good week, and that your weekend has some Music in it. Don’t forget to do something nice for yourself, however small or trivial it may seem, every day. And don’t forget to Turn the Volume Up and Sing-A-Long. You can start with Today’s Top 5 Music Obsessions. Turn them Up.
The first Song is by Grant Lee Buffalo. “Mockingbirds” was the first Grant Lee Buffalo Song I ever heard, and it was love at first listen. I’ve been re-watching the TV Series “Gilmore Girls”. Grant Lee Phillips plays the Town Busker. He sang a small part of “Mockingbirds” on the episode I was watching this morning and I immediately had to hunt it down and listen to it in its entirety. And then hit repeat a few times to listen again, and again. Next up is “Trouble + Me” by Ghostpoet. Ghostpoet is a new discovery of mine, and I can’t seem to get enough of his Songs. Belly was on my mind today as I put together my 10 Questions with Tom Gordon. “Sad Dress” has always been one of my Favorite Songs of theirs. Joshua Radin. I’d nearly forgotten him, and how much I loved his Album, We Were Here, back in 2006. “Star Mile” makes me sigh and cry, and FEEL. I’m pressing Play again and here they come again. So many FEELS. Last, but not least, is my Favorite Track by The Jayhawks, Blue. This is such a beautiful Song.
Are you ready to Press Play and give these 5 Songs a Listen? What Songs are you Turning Up as we enter into the Weekend-Zone?
