Sleepy Tuesday. I feel restless and distracted today. I’d rather be anywhere but here kind of Tuesday. But, I’m pushing through and crossing things off To-Do Lists and answering client emails, and doing all the follow-up and reporting, all those things that make up my job. But really, I’d rather continue listening to this 3-Part Musical Podcast I found – 36 Questions – or continue reading the book in my bag, or binge watch “iZombie”, with a hot cup of Ginger tea and a blanket. What would you rather be doing today?
Music is, of course, helping me stay on track, especially Today’s Top 5 Music Obsessions.
Song 1 is a New Discovery of mine, Nadia Schilling and the Track “Bad as Me”. The Song feels out of the Singer-Songwriter Seventies, but this is from Nadia’s 2017 Album, and I’m pretty sure she wasn’t anywhere near being born in the Seventies. Thank you, Spotify Discover Weekly for another Song-introduction. Next up is a live Version of “Cosmic Dancer” by Marc Bolan/T-Rex, from the Album Spaceball: The American Radio Sessions. One of my Favorite David Bowie Songs, “Five Years”. Lush’s “For Love” is Track 4. The start of this Song is reminiscent of Siouxsie And The Banshees. It immediately reminds me of dancing at Helter Skelter and Stigmata in the late 80’s/early 90’s, in Hollywood. Last, but never lease, is Cocteau Twins’ “Heaven Or Las Vegas”. This Song plays an integral part in a storyline/backstory between two characters in the book I’m writing. I have listened to it so many times, and yet, I still want to hear it again, again, and again. Always.
I hope you are having a good Tuesday and that if you aren’t, that Music is helping.
I’d love to hear what you are hearing, and obsessing over today. Please share in the comments below.
