It’s a beautiful Saturday morning. Warm already in Southern California. The Groundhog was wrong about 6 more weeks of Winter here. On the contrary, it almost feels as if we’ve pushed right on past Spring and landed in Summer. I can smell the salty Ocean air, a breeze trying to wake up and swirl around. My eyes are still hazy as I drink my first sip of coffee, trying to wake up and swirl around, too. Feels like its time for a Weekend edition of Top 5 Music Obsessions.
Song 1 is one of my Favorite Songs from The Clash. “Janie Jones” (pictured with the Band) has that melding of Punk and Pop sensibilities that make me want to get up and move. Next up is a recent Garage Band discovery courtesy of my Music Obsessive boyfriend. He played this Track for me first thing this morning, and its still spinning in my head. Song 3 is “Incredible” by Dramarama. I love the Lyric “She calls me Moe, and I call her Daddy-O” so much. One of my Favorite Songs from 2017 is Track 4. Arcade Fire’s “Creature Comfort” is relevant to Today’s times, and never fails to fill me with emotions. Last, but not least, is a Song lifted off of my Spotify Discover Weekly Playlist. I don’t remember the last time I listened to Orbital, but it has been too long. Nice to hear “Illuminate” this morning.

Janie Jones is a good pick. Although the live version of “Complete Control” is always a fave of mine. Or if I’m stuck in line at the market I’ve found myself humming “Bankrobber”.
