Wednesday is here. Mid-week, favorite weekday, Turn Up the Volume and see the light of the Weekend ahead Wednesday. Though I’d have to say I’m ready for the weekend, the week itself has been a good, albeit busy one. As always, I wouldn’t be carrying on half as well without Music, especially the Music that is making up this week – and today’s – Top 5 Music Obsessions.

Oh, and hey, today is the last day of January. Do you know what that means? Following this Post, I will post a full January Music Obsessions Playlist for your enjoyment. I was taking a listen to it on my commute to work today, and here’s a tip, put it on Shuffle and turn it Up Loud. Oh, and if you know the Lyrics, SING-A-LONG.

But, I digress. Back to Today’s Top 5 Music Obsessions…

Song 1 is a New Discovery of mine from a Grime Artist named Stormzy. I heard this Song yesterday at the beginning of the new FOX Series, The Resident (check it out, I’m liking it a lot, so far). This is definitely a Turn It Up Loud kind of Song that sounds great in the car, or to dance to. Its John (“Johnny Rotten”) Lydon’s birthday today so I had to include a Song from The Sex Pistols, so Track 2 is “Pretty Vacant”, my personal favorite. Another Spotify Discover Weekly discovery is up next, Crocodiles covering both “Groove Is In the Heart” and “California Girls” in one Song. “If I Had a Dog” by Frankie Cosmos, another Discover Weekly, is Song 4, followed right up by a Flashback Track from Fine Young Cannibals, “I’m Not the Man I Used To Be”.
