“I Wanna Be Your Disease” is the Opening Track from 2017’s Juliana Hatfield Album, Pussycat, one of my Favorite Albums of 2017. I remember being surprised to find a new Juliana Album when it was released, happily surprised, as Juliana is one of my all-time favorite Singers.

Juliana said of the Album:
“I wasn’t planning on making a record. All of these songs just started pouring out of me. And I felt an urgency to record them, to get them down, and get them out there.”
Juliana says the presidential election pushed her to song-write again, something she thought was on semi-to-permanent hiatus. She booked time at Q Division Studios in Massachusetts near her home in Cambridge, and assembled together Pete Caldes on drums and Pat DiCenso to engineer, and came up with 14 Songs.
Juliana produced and played everything on the Album except for the drum. The Album was done in 12 and a half days. Many of the Songs are politically charged, but this one, “I Wanna Be Your Disease” seems more personal, and relationship focused. It still has that edge to it, that unsettledness that society seems permeated with.
