Another day, another Top 5 Music Obsession Songs to indulge in. What better way to spend a Tuesday is there? This Week’s Music Obsessions have definitely been influenced by some of the shows I’ve been streaming. Good Music and Good Film together is one of my favorite things in the world. I’m always fascinated by the meet-up of image and sound, which is one of the things I strive for with posts here at Lyriquediscorde, and one of the things I respond to the strongest when taking in art.
The first Track that I’ve been Obsessing over today is “Still Life” from The Horrors, a Song I heard while watching the Netflix Series (and Channel 4 Series from the UK) “Lovesick”. I’m always taken back by how 80’s darkwave/goth/new wave The Horrors sound. They so remind me of Songs I would have heard playing while dancing at Goth Clubs in the late 80’s – especially this one. I really can’t get enough of this Song today – I think I’ve played it at least a dozen times, so far. Next up is another Song that I came across on “Black Mirror’s” San Junipero episode. I forgot how much I loved this Track by Terence Trent D’Arby. It’s so fantastic and makes me want to dance. Up next is a discovery from the weekly feature “Discover Weekly” on Spotify. I’d never heard the band Bent before. I’m really digging this Tune. David Bowie’s “The Prettiest Star” follows. I’m still celebrating the Star Man’s birthday, and indulging in his Music – though when am I not listening to some Bowie? “Rain” by The Cult is last, but not least. This is the first Song I thought of this morning, waking up in the midst of a Southern California rainstorm and thinking of this rainy favorite of mine.
Are you ready for today’s Top 5? What Songs would you add to Today’s list?
