Three days into 2018. How is everyone doing? Is everyone hanging in there? Are you still feeling that burst of New Start energy? Wednesdays are my favorite day of the work week, that said I am feeling a bit tired from all the starting-overs and change, so for today, I’m leaning on audio familiarity for my 5 Music Obsessions of the Day.
Track 1 is one of my first favorite Bright Eyes Songs from when I first discovered Conor Oberst and his melancholic and brilliant songwriting. Next up is a classic from Carole King’s Quintessential Album, Tapestry. I have so many memories of hearing this Album play during my childhood. Song 3 is a gorgeous one from Cocteau Twins. Though I started as a fan of their Music at the peak of my “Goth Days”, touting Garlands as their very best, I’ve grown to love Four-Calendar Cafe most of all. The Lightning Seeds take over my Musical Obsessions with my current fave of theirs, “Change”. The Song seems perfect for the New Year and all those Resolutions. Don’t you think? Finally, its Karen O’s voice lighting back up my motivation for the Day with “Zero”. Maybe it will kickstart yours, too.
Are you ready for today’s Top 5? What Songs would you add to Today’s list?
