Monday is back again and with it the start of a new week. I like to think of Mondays like first days of the month, or like New Year’s Day. A mini-clean slate to start over, or start for the first time, projects and to-do lists and dreams. Music is forever a muse, an inspiration, and support to keep me going. I bet it is for you, as well. So, in that spirit, let’s press play and turn up the volume for today’s Top 5 Music Obsessions.
Song 1 is “Wild Wood” from Paul Weller. I am in major countdown mode until the Paul Weller show, in Los Angeles, this Friday. It will be my first time seeing Weller and I can’t wait! Next up is one of my all-time favorite Pink Floyd songs off of one of my favorite Pink Floyd albums, Meddle. The song “Fearless” always has me craving a road trip, the kind that lasts for days with no strict schedule accompanying the travel. Track 3 is the quintessential Chris Isaak song, “Wicked Game”. This is a song I never get tired of hearing. Tom Petty’s “A Face In the Crowd”, one of my Top 10 Favorite Tom Petty songs ever. Last, but certainly not least, is “Morning Theft” from Jeff Buckley. I can never hear Jeff Buckley without being reminded of the book God-Shaped Hole, by Tiffanie DeBartolo.
