Wednesday’s Top 5 Music Obsessions is filled with a combination of songs that make me want to dance and songs that get my creativity going. Inspiration and motivation mix of 5 is the unofficial theme of today’s Top 5 Music Obsessions and all I can do is turn the volume up louder and hit repeat, as this is the best 5 of the week…so far.
Song 1 is the fantastic Rufus and Chaka Khan track, “Tell Me Something Good”. I mean, how GOOD is this song? Beyond GOOD, and then some. “I See You Baby” by Groove Armada, the Fatboy Slim Radio Edit, is up next. If this doesn’t make you want to dance then you may have to turn it up and play it again until it does. Track 3 is one of my favorites from Saint Etienne – “Nothing Can Stop Us”. This song always reminds me of when I visited Manchester England for the first time, and one of the record stores there that I bought a Best of Saint Etienne at. Billie Eilish’s song “bellyache” is a new discovery of mine. My talented and music obsessed daughter introduced her music to me, playing her 8 song album, don’t smile at me, a few times in the car. This track, “bellyache”, is my initial favorite, though the entire album is worth checking out. Last, but not least, is Richard Hawley’s song, “Tonight the Streets are Ours”, a truly romantic tune that is not lyrically romantic, no, it is more of a societal commentary, with dark bits and gritty street scenes, but still, it tugs at my heart in a big heart and wide eyed romantic kind of way.
Let’s HEAR it – for these Top 5 songs today. They are making my Wednesday shine a little bit brighter. I hope they do that for you, too. Click the Spotify and YouTube links above to hear today’s Top 5, as well as the rest of the week, as it unfolds. Don’t miss a single day!

2. “I See You Baby” by Groove Armada (Fatboy Slim Radio Edit)
“I see you, baby,
shakin’ that ass.”
“I’ve never felt so good.
I’ve never felt so strong.
Nothing can stop us now.”
4. “bellyache” by Billie Eilish

where I left my lover,
what an expensive fate.
My V is for Vendetta,
thought that I’d feel better,
but now I got a bellyache.”
5. “Tonight the Streets are Ours” by Richard Hawley
“And no one else can haunt me,
the way that you can haunt me.
