to satisfy my needs,
and show you care.”

There is very little known about Connie Clark. She is a bit of a music mystery which became even more confusing when it was assumed that she was actually Chris Clark, another female singer popular in the Northern Soul sect.

In the book Top 500 Northern Soul Floor Fillers” (2013) by Kev Roberts he states:

“Connie – is not, in fact, Chris Clark as many have long believed, but actually a long-forgotten Opera singer. The Reverand Wilson recorded his own version [of “My Sugar Baby”] which sadly languishes in the Motown vaults.”

Connie’s name has also been spelled in two different ways – Clark and Clarke. The former is how her name appears on vinyl though, so perhaps the variance is a misinterpretation, or maybe it is contingent on areas in the world people live.
