Wednesday’s Top 5 Music Obsessions is full of songs that remind me of the end of Summer. Some are favorite songs for late Summer road trips, some trigger memories of late Augusts past, and one of the songs is one that I heard for the first time today that feel like the last gasps of Summertime to me, especially today’s last song.
Are you ready to play through some last days of Summer Top 5 Music Obsessions?
Starting us off is The Replacements with a “take me right back to the last Summer of the 80’s” with their hit song, “I’ll Be You”. The Second song is a favorite of mine from Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers. It is one of those songs that I always slide into a “Road Trip” mix. It flows so perfectly into another made for a Road Trip track, “Drivin’ on 9” by the Breeders. I think it may just be my all-time favorite Road Trip song, or at least in the Top 5. Lower Dens “I Get Nervous”, a new discovery of mine that I have been replaying all morning. The Sundays take us to the end of today’s Top 5 Music Obsessions, while they also sing us into these final days of Summertime, with “Here’s Where the Story Ends”.
Do you feel it? The last days heat up and prepare to trade places with Autumn?
