Welcome to this Week’s Friday Edition of the Top 5 Music Obsessions of the Day, this time filled with High Energy, Indie Rock Musical Goodies that should have you Fired Up and Ready for the Weekend. This is a definite Turn Up Loud Top 5, and if you can get in the car, or at least out in the world, while listening to the Top 5, all the better.
Song 1 is a Favorite I’ve not heard in awhile, Ida Maria’s (pictured below) Stellar Song, “I Like You So Much Better When You’re Naked”. Next up is We Are Scientists, with “This Scene is Dead”, from their Album, With Love and Squalor. Song # 3 comes from Carl Barât And The Jackals, with a Song off their New Release, Harder They Fall. The Vines come around after with one of their Best Songs, “Outtathaway”, which leads pretty perfectly into Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ (pictured below) Fantastic Track, “Phenomena”.
Here’s to Friday finally arriving, and for these Top 5 Songs to help us celebrate. Be sure to Turn this Top 5 Up to a Blasting level, Sing-A-Long, and Dance Around – it is Friday, after all! And, don’t you worry if you missed a day of Music this week, you can always catch-up throughout the week through those Links above. Each Day’s Songs are added to the Spotify and YouTube Playlists for the Week, put together with Care and Music Obsession, for your Listening, and Music Obsessing, Pleasure.
TOP 5 MUSIC OBSESSIONS OF THE DAY:
1. “I Like You So Much Better When You’re Naked” :: Ida Maria
“Oh I’m nervous.
I don’t know what to do.
Light a cigarette?
I only smoke when I’m with you.“
The First time I heard this Song was when I saw Ida Maria at Coachella, in 2009. This is such a Dance-able, Sing-A-Long-able Song – don’t you think? Also, I kinda Adore the 80’s inspired Music Video.
2. “This Scene is Dead” :: We Are Scientists
“Look,
I would really love to kiss you,
but I guess I’m in no condition.“
This Track is Perfect for a Friday, especially for a Friday Night (that carries into an early Saturday morning).
3. “Burning Cars” :: Carl Barât and The Jackals
“We can barely see the stars.”
A New Track from the Jackals Newest Release, with accompanying New Video. A Mix of Punk and Indie Rock Clashing up together in the Best way. Turn this One Way, Way Up.
4. “Outtathaway” :: The Vines
“Gotta get outtathaway!
No time for me to stay.“
Hey, The Vines, thank you for being the First Song that I heard today that inspired this Rocking Top 5.
5. “Phenomena” :: Yeah Yeah Yeahs
“Don’t touch kid,
sleep with the lights on.
Touch kid,
how you surprise me.
Now roll kid, rock your body off!“
The Perfect Song to end this Top 5 with because it sort of teases a new Feature that lyriquediscorde will be running on Fridays. Stay tuned later today and see.
