TOP 5 MUSIC OBSESSIONS OF THE DAY:

1. “Los Feliz (Blues and Greens)” :: The Jesus And Mary Chain

Girl,
you taste like coffee,
and you feel like rain.”

I Love that Lyric above. Tasting like coffee and feeling like rain sounds like a Dream to me.

2. “Sour Times” :: Portishead

Who am I,
what and why?
‘Cause all I have left is my memories,
of yesterday.”

“Sour Times” and Portishead, especially the Dummy Album, remind me so much of a particular time and place in the late 90’s. It isn’t so much people, but place and surroundings, weather and time of day, that this Song brings back to me.

3. “Gimme Shelter” :: The Rolling Stones

War,
children,
it’s just a shot away.
It’s just a shot away.”

I think this may have been the first Stones Song I ever heard, and for a long time it was my Favorite Stones. It still definitely remains in the Top 10.

4. “Make Me Believe In You” :: Curtis Mayfield

I ain’t for no heart wrappin’,
so you can stop with your eyelids slappin’.
It’s gonna be a real cryin’ shame,
if I find that you’re playin’ in a game.”

I had a dream with this Song in it, last night. I don’t remember the dream that clearly, but I do remember this Song in it.

5. “Behind Blue Eyes” :: The Who

But my dreams,
they aren’t as empty,
as my conscience seems to be.”

My current Favorite Who Song, though it changes all the time. I can’t get enough of this one recently. This Album, too. Probably due to the current 8-Track Obsession that my Boyfriend and I have been on.

The Who, Top 5, Top 5 Music Obsessions
