“It doesn’t start,
it doesn’t end.
How will we be moved’?
On a rock spinnin’ through the echoes round the sun.”

“Echoes Round the Sun” was the First Release from 22 Dreams. It was Released as a Double A-Sided Single with “Have You Made Up Your Mind” on the Flipside.
Noel Gallagher and Gem Archer, from Oasis, Feature on “Echoes Round the Sun”. The Song became Weller’s First Top 20 Single since 2005. The Song peaked at # 19 on the UK Singles Chart.
What I Love about this Song is the Energy, and the Rock and Roll of it. The Power in the Song that surpasses the Lyrics even (and usually its the Lyrics that get me with anything Weller). Gem’s Guitar work and Noel’s Bass add a lot to it. I can feel the Oasis touch in this Track.
The Song itself is considered a collaboration between Paul Weller and Noel Gallagher and Gem Archer. The Oasis bandmates did the backing Track and Weller put the Vocals on top.
Weller told Uncut Magazine:
“In Songwriting terms, it’s the First Weller/Gallagher collaboration. Noel came down to the Studio with this Loop he’d never been able to do anything with. He Played the Bass and the Piano, and then Gem Played Guitar on top. It’s a Top Tune.”
Noel and Paul had been friends for awhile before the two Songwriters found the time to collaborate.
Weller explained to the Daily Mail:
“We’d been trying to write a Song for ten years, but we’re far to self-conscious to sit n a room together and get on with it. We finally cracked it when Noel came in with a Track and we Jammed on top to give us a tune.”
