Mikey Erg ::Keep Art Alive :: 10 Questions Project
1. What music (or other art form) inspires you when you create your art?
I listen to a lot of 60 & 70s rock and roll and I take a lot from mid 90’s pop punk. I pretty much listen to all genres. To quote Zappa, music is the best. Lyrically I’m very inspired by Elvis Costello, The Beatles and Andy Partridge from XTC.
2. Long distance road trip: what three people do you invite along (fictional or non-fictional, dead or alive)?
Joe Jackson, Ade Edmondson & Marc Maron. That would be a cool conversation!
Editor’s note: That would be a cool conversation. I’m such a fan of Marc Maron.
3. What is your favorite breakfast cereal?
Honey Nut Cheerios
4. What is one thing that is hanging on your bedroom wall?
A picture of Frank Zappa on the toilet.
5. What smell/scent evokes strong memories for you?
I love the smell of recording tape. It reminds me of hanging out at my dad’s recording studio when I was younger.
6. Coffee or tea?
I love both but one of my favorite things to do is kick back with a nice cup of chai tea and watch a movie so I’d have to go with that!
7. What has been the most impactful compliment, or criticism, you have ever received?
Anytime anyone has said my music has gotten them through any sort of hard time. There’s really no greater feeling.
8. Three words that describe you?
Music music music!
Editor’s note: Perfect answer!
9. What is/was your cartoon character crush?
It’s gotta be Jessica rabbit right?
10. The world is ending in ten minutes and you get to listen to one, and only one, song: Which song?
