They always say time changes things, but you actually have to change them yourself.” ~ Andy Warhol

The snake which cannot cast its skin has to die. As well the minds which are prevented from changing their opinions; they cease to be mind.” ~ Friedrich Nietzsche

Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise, so I am changing myself.” ~ Rumi

You’re always you, and that don’t change, and you’re always changing, and there’s nothing you can do about it.” ~ Neil Gaiman

Changes :: David Bowie

I still don’t know what I was waiting for,
and my time was running wild a million dead-end streets,
and every time I thought I’d got it made,
it seemed the taste was not so sweet.
So I turned myself to face me,
but I’ve never caught a glimpse of how the others must see the faker,
I’m much too fast to take that test.
Ch-ch-ch-ch-Changes

Some things in my life are changing. Some things in my life need changing. I tend to thrive on change and in it, the challenges that change bring, tests my strengths, motivates my creativity, pushes me to a place of persistence. These things are necessary, as change is sometimes necessary. So, in spirit of change, and of changes in my life, I am making some changes around here, too. Here are some of the initial changes ahead, potentially starting in November. I’m also asking my bloggers/writers out there that read me to consider submitting some of your work here. I always believe in keeping art alive and promoting artists, so I’d love to collaborate and share others voices, views and writing.

Lyriquediscorde will stay a music and writing space, where I will continue sharing songs of the day, new release reviews, artist interviews, live show reviews, music lists, album and artist features, throwback projects, new themes and, of course, playlists. I’d love to have some music collaborations and submissions from anyone who’d like to share here. I’m calling all my fellow music obsessives to share with me.

At the Starlite Diner will return and be a place for my personal writing and excerpts from the novel I’m working on. This will be writing heavy, though there may be visual art and music included that inspire or correlate with the writing. This is a personal spot, so no submissions here.

If Dreams Are Like Movies is new and will be all movies all the time. I will be updating it a few days a week and will have themes going, my take on reviews which veers a little more personal and reactive than typical, director and actor specific features and projects. I would love to have some fellow writers and collaborators to share work here. I’m open to project suggestions and themes, and would love some variety here and some different takes on tastes and style. I know some great bloggers out there that love movies and write so uniquely about them – would you consider sharing some writing here, or even writing together on something?

So Give Me Coffee and TV is also new and will be all TV all the time. I will be updating this one a few days a week, as well, and will include themes, new programs and binged programs projects, features looking back on shows and characters, reviews and reactions, and hopefully some introductions/sharing of shows that may be unknown or under-watched. Here, too, I would love to have some fellow writers and collaborators to share work here. I’m open to project suggestions and themes, and would love some after show banter and theorizing, and some re-watch collaborations. I think this could be fun if anyone wants to work together, or share their writing here.

Please contact me in the comments or at lyrique.discorde@gmail.com if you would like to collaborate or submit work here. I will credit and link to your work and blog space and anything else you want to promote and will share your writing and/or collaboration across my sharing spaces. Let me know what you think and if you’d be interested.

Also, feel free to follow the other spaces if you want to read about their individual future posts. I’d love feedback, too, and any other music/movie/TV suggestions that you’d like me to consider writing about.

      1. Aw thanks that is way too kind & kinda crazy=)
Maybe!–you’ve got an impressive amount of plates spinning(umm does this reference even make sense?) and I don’t know how you do it! You’ve practically got your own zine happening here.
Looking forward to your new writing spaces=)

      2. I like to think of it as a zine of sorts. It is easier actually having them split like I’m trying. I write because it is what I love/keeps me sane.

Just think about it. If you ever have a spark of inspiration of something you’d like to write and have me co-publish here let me know…or if you think of any collaborate theme we could do on each of our blogs in tandem, like E&J day, let me know 🙂

      3. It’s funny b/c you write it to stay sane but I read it for the same reason, like my relaxing and/or brain food time of the day…like reading a favorite magazine.

I will think about it;) I just don’t think I could keep up with you is all! You appear to effortlessly crank out top notch posts, I freeze when I feel like I have to do a post, if that makes sense.

Are you already posting on your new blogs? I think I still need to add them!

      4. Wow…I’m sort of without words at that compliment. I’m beyond flattered and touched that you feel my little space here is like a magazine.

You wouldn’t need to “keep up” with anything, just if you get a whim or a thought of maybe a once a month post. Maybe about a favorite TV show, or movie soundtrack?

I started on the writing blog and the movie blog, have not started with the TV yet.

      5. I’m always explaining myself in the worst way! I mean and I can’t remember if I wrote this but I’m impressed by how much quality writing you put out so fast, so often. You seem like one of those people who writes so well it appears effortless. I feel like I freeze up when I think “I’m going to write this for this thing” & it just ends up terrible, don’t know why but I love the idea & offer and I need the encouragement and mostly I’m just appreciative you’d even think of me and offer to collaborate in some way-you’re too nice! Kind of like the Cocktail Hour I ended up contributing a whole lot of nothing, my brain just froze=(! Such a loser=)

      6. I got it, what you meant. And I definitely didn’t want the invitation to be stressful. If you ever feel like it cool, if not, no biggie. I do love your comments though! 🙂

Also, I did just do my first post to the new TV blog. My Killing episode reviews will be there now, too.
