Super groups and musical collaborations make me all kinds of excited, especially when the coming together of artists include some of my favorites. Puss’n’Boots is an incredible collaboration between Norah Jones, Sasha Dobson and Catherine Popper, who have played live together since 2008, and now have an album that will be released by Blue Note Records THIS MONTH, on July 15th, called No Fools, No Fun.
The trio tossed around many names before landing on Puss’n’Boots, including Fangbanger (True Blood fans anyone?), Dixie Fried and Shitstorm.

Recorded at Studio G in Brooklyn with engineer/mixer Joel Hamilton, No Fools, No Fun will include five original songs – two each from Dobson and Popper and one from Jones – and seven spirited cover tunes, all culled from Puss n Boots’ live repertoire.
The album is available for pre-order here. If you pre-order No Fools, No Fun on iTunes and Amazon.com you will instantly receive a download of Down By The River, Puss’n’Boots’ take on the classic Neil Young track.
