Keep Art Alive :: Art by Joshua Petker

Fade
(by me)

My memories are scattered
transparent
elusive
misplaced
misshapen
I do not identify clearly
with memory
My eyes cloud over
blur the way things were
and the ages shift
the time circles
comes back again
and blends
It is more a haze of smells
songs
and sounds
images
faces
words
I try to piece them together
string them up like Christmas lights
so I might sit beneath them
bask in the light
make out why it matters
who I was
then
not that I would ever want to go back
