“You’ll be doing alright,
with your Christmas of white,
but I’ll have a blue, blue Christmas.”
One of my favorites of the more melancholic holiday songs, for some reason this song always reminds me of a scene from the movie Coal Miner’s Daughter, when Loretta Lynn first hears, on the radio, that Patsy Cline has died. I do not know why it is that this song always takes me there, as I believe the song playing in that scene, on the radio, is actually Patsy’s hit, Sweet Dreams of You, but that is how my pop-culture mind works sometimes.
