Kind and Generous :: Natalie Merchant
Thanksgiving – for various reasons, this has never been my favorite holiday. Some of it is from my own history, family dynamics being so painful sometimes. And, of course, some of it is due to the country I come from’s own history. Through it all, though, we evolve and I like to think that I gift my own children new traditions and better histories. Today I would like to take a moment to contemplate the things, and the people, I am thankful for, and also recognize what I am thankful for in myself. We so rarely note the good things in us, as it is so very easy to lay out and pick apart what we perceive as our many flaws and faults.
Today I am going to try and focus on the things I am grateful for, no matter if it is really hard to do so. Look around the world you live in, are there things you can say “thank you” to, as well?
