Keep Art Alive :: The 10 Questions Project :: Featuring Daniel Kirkpatrick
1. What music (or other art form) inspires you when you create your art?
I’d say the art of conversation more than anything else. A fair amount of songs that I write are directed toward a specific person and revolve around an experience I’ve had with them so that’s what inspires me most.
2. Long distance road trip: what three people do you invite along (fictional or non-fictional, dead or alive)?
Well staying entertained is key so I’d go with a comedian like…..Seth Macfarlane. I’d say Mick Jagger would have plenty of good stories to tell so he’d be my next choice. After that I’d need someone who could be the voice of reason and at least try to keep me out of trouble but cave in the end…..let’s go with Bill Clinton.
3. What is your favorite breakfast cereal?
Cinnamon Toast Crunch.
4. What is one thing that is hanging on your bedroom wall?
Honestly there’s nothing on my bedroom wall right now as I’m currently shopping for art work. I’d like to buy an Evan Hecox painting at some point though.
5. What smell/scent evokes strong memories for you?
There are a few women’s perfumes that I always recognize right away. Not going to say which ones.
6. Coffee or tea?
Tea. It’s good for the voice.
7. What has been the most impactful compliment, or criticism, you have ever received?
Someone told me I look like Ryan Seacrest once. Some days I think it was a compliment and some days not.
8. Three words that describe you?
Loud, quirky, perfectionist.
9. What is/was your cartoon character crush?
Daphne from Scooby Doo. Hands down.
10. The world is ending in ten minutes and you get to listen to one, and only one, song: Which song?
A blues song would be appropriate so probably the live version of Double Trouble by Eric Clapton.
